Blooming in Dundee: FRESH Floral’s Journey of Growth and Community Support

Since its acquisition of Voila! Magdalene Blooms in March 2023, Heart Ministry Center has been nurturing the roots of FRESH Floral, a social enterprise that has quickly become a floral haven in the heart of Dundee. The business officially blossomed on June 23, 2023, with a grand opening that marked the culmination of meticulous planning, remodeling, and a dash of creative flair.

Rayna Pollock, the director of FRESH Floral, embarked on this journey after successfully leading the Fresh Start Laundromat, another social enterprise under the Heart Ministry Center umbrella. With two decades of managerial experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the floral industry.

Voila! has been a floral staple in Dundee since 2003, and FRESH Floral is honored to continue this tradition. Partnering with Julie Hockney, owner of Bouquet, a floral design studio, FRESH Floral strives to provide extraordinary floral arrangements and services to the Omaha community.

One notable success in FRESH Floral's journey was the swift remodel that took place in three months, just in time for the grand opening. Walls came down, floors were redone, and the entire space was transformed, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects the beauty of its floral creations.

What sets FRESH Floral apart is its commitment to community service. As the second social enterprise by Heart Ministry Center, FRESH Floral supports the nonprofit's mission to provide food, healthcare, and a way forward to those affected by poverty in the Omaha area. The delivery driver is a graduate of Heart Ministry Center's Fresh Start job training program, showcasing the positive impact of community support.

In Dundee, FRESH Floral has found a welcoming home. Rayna Pollock emphasizes the support from other merchants and the local community, creating a familial atmosphere that enhances the business experience.

Looking ahead, FRESH Floral has exciting plans, including monthly floral classes starting with a wreath-making class on December 9th. Taught by talented florists, these classes offer a fun and creative outlet for families or groups of friends.
